Background
PD virus exists in two variants in Norway, SAV2 and SAV3. SAV3 is the original Norwegian variant widely distributed in the western part of the country. SAV2 was found for the first time in Romsdal in 2010 and has since then spread to Nordmøre and Sør-Trøndelag.
